About Us
Headteacher’s Welcome
Your child is an individual – they deserve a unique and personalised education.
A very warm welcome to our school. We are a dedicated, hardworking and friendly team who work closely together to nurture, support and celebrate every child, helping them to grow in confidence, develop their independence and flourish as learners.
We are a welcoming infant school situated in the heart of Stony Stratford. Choosing an infant school education means that your child benefits from a whole-school team who are passionate about, and specialise in, the education and development of children aged 3 to 7. Our strong links with our local junior school ensure that children experience a smooth and carefully supported transition into Key Stage 2.
Our school has a long and proud history. The original school was built in 1844 before moving into our present buildings in 1907. Today, we are a Local Authority school providing education across the Early Years Foundation Stage, including Nursery and Reception, and Key Stage 1 for children aged 5 to 7. We have two classes in each year group and can accommodate up to 219 children, including 39 Nursery places.
At our school, we have high expectations for every child. We combine inclusive approaches with excellent teaching and an exciting, bespoke curriculum that inspires children to be curious, creative and enthusiastic about learning.
We want every child to feel happy, safe, valued and successful. We create a caring environment where children develop self-confidence and independence, learn to be considerate and respectful of others, and understand the importance of working hard and having a positive attitude towards learning.
Most importantly, we recognise that every child is unique. We take the time to understand their individual strengths, interests, needs and aspirations, ensuring that they receive the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
We are committed to working in partnership with our parents and carers, our local community and the wider world. Together, we want to give every child the very best start to their education – developing not only successful learners, but confident, kind, resilient and curious young people who are ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school community.
